New Cemented Carbide Insert Line Enters Production
The company has moved into its new plant in the Zhongnan Hi-Tech Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Park, and the newly built cemented carbide CNC insert line has entered production, with about RMB 50 million invested in equipment.
In July 2022, the newly built cemented carbide CNC insert line of Zhuzhou Delong Metal Material Processing Co., Ltd. entered production at its new plant in the Zhongnan Hi-Tech Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Park. The company moved to the new site as a whole that year, with about RMB 50 million invested in 50 sets of supporting equipment covering the complete process chain from powder preparation, pressing, vacuum sintering and precision grinding to coating deposition and final inspection before shipment.
The new line mainly serves three general-purpose conditions — turning, milling, and grooving and parting-off — covering mainstream insert types such as CNMG, WNMG, TNMG and APMT. Sintering uses vacuum sintering furnaces and grinding is done on CNC grinding machines, holding insert tolerance to ±0.05 mm, tighter than the ±0.08 mm required by the GB/T 2081 national standard. Annual capacity at full output is planned at 20 million inserts.
The company was founded in July 2018, so this start of production came in its fourth year. From renting a workshop to owning its own production line, capacity and process completeness are the biggest changes of these four years — some processes used to be outsourced, and with the new plant in production every process is now closed-loop in-house, making delivery time and quality more controllable.
